It has been a while since my last blog. The snow we have gotten this winter has been epic! Snowfall amounts of 327 cm recorded in Greenwood, Kingston, Aylesford areas. I live on the North Mountain and our biggest issue has been the blowing snow. The snow was too much for my tractor and it gave up about a month ago. The second hand snow shoes I bought in January have proven to be a fantastic addition. I have had to use them to view properties and list homes.
For those of you that don’t know me personally, I am a full time REALTOR and a part time farmer. My wife Donna has always dreamed of owning a farm. Upon retirement form the Canadian Forces, we bought a 10 acre hobby farm. There is no better way to raise 5 children than on a farm (although my children would disagree). On the farm right now we have over 30 sheep, 3 cows, over 50 chickens, 1 turkey, and 6 horses.
Our sheep decided to have all of their babies during the worst weather week of the winter. It has been quite an adventure. Buy a farm they said….it will be relaxing they said!
Today the sun is shining! People are starting to list their homes for the spring market. Our spring advertising campaign has begun. This year we are giving away $4000 in appliances (or a gift card of equivalent value). I have been experimenting with Facebook Ads (not sure if anybody has seen them). I have also been doing webinars to stay on top of the technology. The blog is evolving as well. My cousin Jay Malone blogs daily, and has been an inspiration. Have a great day!
